This movie was odd. If The Tourist hadn’t had a cast of familiar faces (Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Paul Bettany), I’m fairly certain I would have turned it off. It was slow. It was, I don’t know, not dull but not very engaging. The story is wrapped around the simple construct of the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or was he? The story had an interesting twist that was certainly unexpected and made me laugh out loud at the end. I had been so unimpressed as the story went along that when I didn’t anticipate the ending, I had to laugh at myself and at the writers. The final twist was almost too hard to swallow but at the same time made me feel like I hadn’t completely wasted the last two hours of my life. I don’t know if I would recommend the movie in general, because again, it was slow and awkward at times; hands-down, Don would NOT have liked it if he had been home. LOL But if you’re a Johnny Depp fan like me, you might check it out just for kicks and let me know what you think afterwards.
Drama is life with all the dull parts cut out of it.
