Movie Monday – 30 Minutes or Less, and Holiday Movies

30 Minutes or Less. Skip it. Sure, we laughed a few grudging laughs at stupidity and at a few cleverly written barbs but beyond that this movie had very little to offer. Stupid premise. Stupid characters. It was like a Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time skit stretched out to a full length movie. If you like that sort of thing, then give this movie a whirl. But I say, save yourself the time and money and pass on this movie, you’re not missing anything.

I didn’t catch any other new movies this past week but I’ve been getting my holiday movie fix. Of course, first and foremost, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, which I think everyone has seen at least once in their life. The Ref with Denis Leary and Kevin Spacey is hilarious. I laugh every year. If you’ve never seen it, check it out. It might not be for everyone but it’s worth at least one screening if you’ve never seen it. I also watched The Santa Clause 2. Sweet movie and Tim Allen always makes me laugh. Scrooged is another favorite but I don’t have that one in my personal collection and it’s not available on Netflix streaming so I’m waiting for it to run on regular tv again. I saw bits a pieces when it ran a couple of times in the last week or so. I’m hoping to catch it in full sometime this week.

Hope you’re enjoying your holiday season as the days countdown to Christmas!

  1. Christmas Vacation is my absolute favorite. It has been a staple on Christmas Eve with my Dad’s family since I can remember. I put it on the the other day to watch with Riley and realized it is mildly inappropriate for the 3 year old crowd. Oops, parenting fail.
