We just got back from a 10 day trip home to visit family and friends in the Northwest so I’m a little off my usual schedule of movies, reading, and cooking. I’ll get back on track soon. I also hope to share some of our exploits from the trip in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, I know it’s technically not a movie, but it’s all I’ve got right now; we’ve had Arrested Development in our Netflix queue for ages but we never seem to get around to watching it. Turns out, my bother-in-law is a fan so we watched a bit of Season 1 together during breakfast or late in the evening while we were in town. It’s some funny shit. Dry funny. But different and entertaining. Lots of familiar faces: Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera, David Cross, Will Arnett, and Jeffrey Tambor. The family takes the term dysfunctional to a new level as Bateman’s character attempts to hold the family together after his father is imprisoned for shifty accounting in the family business. Three seasons were produced between 2003 and 2006. If you’re looking for some laughs and you haven’t seen Arrested Development, I say give it a try; definitely watch the pilot so you can really understand the story behind all the crazy. 🙂
A good laugh overcomes more difficulties and dissipates more dark clouds than any other one thing.
