I enjoyed Safe with Jason Statham. The story is convoluted but told evenly enough to follow. Statham’s character is a hardened but broken man. When he hits rock bottom, his life crosses the path of a young girl who excels at counting and math and who is a pawn in a Chinese mob scheme. Enter lots of action, chase scenes, and butt-kicking as Statham attempts to save the girl from a terrible fate. Don thinks that Statham is type-cast, always playing the same tough guy. True, his new movie Parker doesn’t look like much of a far cry from Safe. But I still enjoy the movies. And I enjoy Statham’s characters, even if they are somewhat similar. So, my two cents, Safe is a good ride.
There’s a school for gifted children up in Seattle. It’s a nice drive… if you like trees and shit.
