Reading Corner – The Dresden Files Book 1 and 2

StormFrontTechnically I’ve read Storm Front once before but since a friend bought me books 1-5 and 14 for Christmas (thanks again Diane!), I thought it would be good to re-read Storm Front, just to re-fresh myself with the characters before moving on in the series. So for the past week while I was off for spring break I indulged and enjoyed books 1 and 2. Storm Front introduces you to Harry Dresden, Wizard for Hire. Battling demons and evil sorcerers is just one day in the life of Harry Dresden. Part mystery, party fantasy, all good humor, The Dresden Files are quick, easy reads with non-stop action and cliffhanger notes at the end of every chapter that make you want to read just one more.

FoolMoon

Fool Moon brings you knee deep into the world of lycanthropy. Butcher creates a whole new werewolf mythology that I’ve never encountered before. I give both books a hearty thumbs up and highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys mysteries and who doesn’t mind a little magical element thrown into the mix.

Paranoid? Probably. But just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean there isn’t an invisible demon about to eat your face.

  1. Butcher is hands down one of my favorite authors of the last ten years. ALL fifteen (yep, that’s fifteen) Dresden books are top notch. Don’t miss the short stories about Harry in a little gem called, “Side Jobs.” Fifteen, “Cold Days”, makes it pretty clear that the author is planning a number sixteen.

Honestly, Jessica, I’m so jealous- you still have so many more books to enjoy for the very first time. Have fun!
