I have been waiting to see Riddick for SO LONG. Unfortunately, so much anticipation often leads to disappointment. I wish I could say I loved this movie but it just left me feeling dissatisfied. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not terrible. It just somehow didn’t live up to my expectations. I suppose, like many, I wanted more of the Necromonger mythology and story that was just beginning in Chronicles of Riddick. Instead, you get another desolate planet rampant with dangerous creatures and inept bounty hunters intent on capturing or killing Riddick. Much like the first movie Pitch Black. I wish I could say I liked this latest installment of the Riddick story more but I think it’s my least favorite of the three movies. After waiting 9 years for another movie about this character, I just wish the story had more complexity and development. 😦
Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.
